The Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA) is pleased to again sponsor the Indiana University Fundraising School in Michigan. For 25 years, The Fund Raising School has helped thousands of fund raising professionals achieve new levels of success. The IU School teaches the current issues, the art and the strategy of fund raising and philanthropy. You take back knowledge and skills to confidently build your organization's resources in a very competitive environment.

Four courses will be held throughout 2003 with Nonprofit Enterprise at Work and Volunteer Accounting Service Team of Michigan serving as local hosts. All seminars will be held in Livonia, Michigan. Registration fees for the Michigan seminars include continental breakfast, lunch and all training materials. (DO NOT register for the Michigan seminars on the IUFRS web site.) BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH DONORS AND POTENTIAL DONORS

March 2 and 3, 2004, 8:30 – 5:00 daily, Laurel Manor, Livonia, Michigan

It’s about relationships! A key to successful fund raising is knowing your donors and potential donors well and establishing good on-going communications. Interpersonal Communication for Fundraising provides the information you need. Learn how to communicate effectively with perspective donors in ways that fit their personal styles. Gain tools to build life-long relationships.

Registration: $425 MNA members, $475 not-yet-members (IUFRS published tuition $580).

Continental breakfast and networking starts at 7:30 a.m. for both classes. Lunches, snacks, materials and parking included.

The Indiana University Fund Raising School provides the premier training in development and offers a widely-recognized Certificate in Fund Raising Management upon completion of four core courses, including the two above. Presented by highly-experienced fundraisers on the teaching staff of the Indiana University Fund Raising School.

Presented in partnership with the Dorothy A Johnson Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership. Local co-hosts are Nonprofit Enterprise at Work and Volunteer Accounting Service Team of Michigan.

Local Learning Series

What: The Local Learning Series is designed for the busy nonprofit representative. It is a no-frills approach to training, focused on "use it now" information. More than just a series of workshops, the Local Learning Series provides a framework for more collaborative local service delivery through an emphasis on participant networking.

When: Workshops are scheduled at least monthly. Each workshop lasts no more than one-half day, allowing you to keep up with daily tasks.

Where: All workshops except January 6 will be held at the MNA office, 1048 Pierpont, Suite 3, Lansing. We are located next to the Days Inn in south Lansing, right off Pennsylvania at I-96 exit 104.

Who: Participants will include nonprofit staff, volunteers, and board members.

*REGISTRATION IS NON-REFUNDABLE, BUT MAY BE TRANSFERED TO ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL, PAYMENT SHOULD BE RECEIVED BEFORE THE CLASS DATE.

Cost: Each 1/2 day workshop is $35 for MNA members; $50 for non-members. The registration fee includes all materials.
